FAQ — Drive4Youth

Question 1

How do I donate my vehicle?

Accepted Answer

Fill out our online donation form or give us a call. We'll collect your vehicle details, confirm pickup arrangements with you, and walk you through the next steps.

Question 2

Is there any cost to me?

Accepted Answer

Pickup fees and availability are confirmed at the time of arrangement. Contact us to discuss your specific situation and we'll be upfront about any costs involved.

Question 3

How long does the process take?

Accepted Answer

From your initial enquiry to pickup, the process typically takes 2–5 business days depending on your location. We'll work with your schedule to find a convenient time.

Question 4

Do I need to be home for the pickup?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily. As long as we can access the vehicle and you've completed the necessary paperwork, we can often arrange pickup without you being present. We'll discuss the details when scheduling.

Question 5

What types of vehicles do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, and most other passenger vehicles. Running or not — we take them all. If you're unsure whether your vehicle qualifies, just contact us and we'll let you know.

Question 6

Do you accept vehicles that don't run?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We accept vehicles in any condition — running, non-running, damaged, or junk vehicles. The condition of your vehicle does not affect your ability to donate.

Question 7

Is there a minimum or maximum age for the vehicle?

Accepted Answer

No. We accept vehicles of any age, from older models to newer ones. As long as it's a vehicle, we're interested.

Question 8

Where do you currently operate?

Accepted Answer

We currently serve Nova Scotia, with plans to expand across Canada in the future. Contact us to confirm service availability in your area.

Question 9

Do I need the vehicle title to donate?

Accepted Answer

In most cases, yes. The title (or ownership document) is required to transfer the vehicle. However, if you've lost your title, contact us — depending on your province, we may still be able to help.

Question 10

What paperwork do I need to complete?

Accepted Answer

We'll walk you through everything. Typically, you'll need to sign over the title and complete a short donation form. Our team will guide you through each step.

Question 11

Will I receive a tax receipt?

Accepted Answer

Drive4Youth does not issue tax receipts. We are not a registered charity and do not offer charitable donation receipts.

Question 12

Where do the proceeds from my donation go?

Accepted Answer

Proceeds from your vehicle are directed toward programs and initiatives that support children and youth in need in our community. Your donation makes a direct, meaningful difference.

Question 13

How is my vehicle recycled?

Accepted Answer

Your vehicle is taken to a licensed recycling facility where it is processed in an environmentally responsible way. Usable parts are salvaged and reused, and the remaining materials are recycled.

Question 14

Is the recycling process environmentally friendly?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We partner with licensed, environmentally responsible recycling facilities. Fluids are safely drained and disposed of, and materials are recycled wherever possible.
